Director Shankar’s first choice for one of the three male leads in ‘Nanban’ was Bharath, sources say. The director has apparently asked the actor to keep his dates free just in case he would require them. Bharath, it may be mentioned here, shares a good rapport with the director as it was he who introduced him to Tamil cinema with ‘Boys’.
But, the offer to star in ‘Nanban’ went on to other stars because Shankar felt that Bharath would not fit the bill. The director also conveyed this to the actor and told him that he would get in touch with him for his subsequent film.
Bharath has said that, he has no qualms over not making it in ‘Nanban’ as it is the director’s prerogative to pick and choose the actors who would suit for a particular project.
