2. Ko: Ajmal’s grey-shaded character is very well depicted. It has its own justification of its gestures. A typical politician daring to make anything for the power and feels it is right. K.V. Anand’s conceptualization along with his writers Subha is worth appreciating.
3. Azhagar Saamyin Kuthirai: The film stands out as an illustration that movies based on novels will be accepted by audiences. It’s an unusual theme, but done with a top-notching panache by Susindran.
4. Aadukalam: Vetrimaaran and Dhanush have bagged honors for our Tamil film industry and it’s really appreciable. Hats off to the entire team. Dhanush’s character as K.T. Karuppu will be one of his best characterizations of his career.
5. Maaveeran: Though, the film is a dubbed version of Telugu blockbuster movie ‘Magadheera’, we ought to bring this film into your attention. A marvelous package by SS Rajamouli and Ram Charan Teja lays a big competition for the young league of actors in Kollywood as well.
6. Kanden: Shanthanu has been trying his luck of fortune in Kollywood right from the first film. Well, it’s nice to see that his motive is about being spotted as a cool-romantic chap and not action heroes. Kanden is predictable, but is engrossing in parts.
7. Yuddham Sei: Mysskin doesn’t leave an impression of his previous films with his next one. While, he melted down our hearts with his warming emotions ‘Nandhalala’; ‘Yuddham Sei’ becomes an edge-seated thriller.
8. Nadunissi Naaigal: We have discussed a lot over the film. It’s a bold attempt by Gautham Menon for pioneering with this effort.
9. Kaavalan: The situational songs with feel-good appeal and comedy tracks with Vadivelu are captivating. A long time perhaps we saw Vijay in such dimensions.
10. Engeyum Kadhal: For the first time, a newly released film is getting almost out of the charts for its flimsy content. Except for Harris Jayaraj and Nirav Shah, there isn’t anything appreciable with the film.
