1. Vaanam: Director Krish’s characterization is so beautiful. Every character in this film is caged with its own dreams. If you’re keen on this factor, you’ll love the film more than you did before. STR is caged with love, Saranya for her son, Prakash Raj for his brother, Anushka for her business and Bharath for music.
2. KO: Ajmal’s ne plus ultra performance has contributed a lot over the film’s success. He has done justice to his role. Though, the commercial success can be referred to the overflow effect of ‘Ayan’, the film has a good quality for its unique theme.
3. Azhagar Saamiyin Kuthirai: As we have mentioned in the review, very few filmmakers opt for the novels as their source of inspiration. Exactly in the same way, ‘Azhagar Saamiyin Kuthirai’ proves to be a good piece of work. The perfect casting and technicians are yet other highlights of the film.
4. Yuddham Sei: Filmmaker Mysskin deserves tons of appreciation for one particular reason. His keen focus on making different sort of movies on the row. Glimpse through his directorial venture, it boasts of films based on different genres. ‘Yuddham Sei’ will remain as a special film in his career.
5. Nadunissi Naaigal: The climax portion of the film clearly gave an indication that there is going to be ‘Nadunissi Naaigal 2’. But then, if Gautham Menon is stopped by the results of NN, we have a request, let him continue with his plans for, it will draw more audiences this time.
6. Aadukalam: Dhanush as Karuppu has grabbed the interest of many masses, particularly the female cohorts. Director Vetrimaaran deserves praises for his best involvement in both technical and narrative aspects.
7. Kaavalan: The film doesn’t have a special script, but an ordinary and usual one, with an interesting screenplay with some unexpected twists in the climax. To be precise, the last 20 minutes of the film has been the key for the film’s success.
8. Engeyum Kadhal: It looks like Prabhu Deva wanted to prove that he is capable of making movies of any genre. ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ is almost close to the Bollywood rom-com flicks as they exhibit the rich quality in technical aspects, but has poor content.
9. Nanjupuram: Director Charles has picked a good plot and executed his ideas so neatly. Raghav sticks to the core of perfection and walks away winning praises.
10. Seedan: Subramaniam Siva has worked for a better screenplay. But next time we expect him to come up with a film of his own idea rather than remaking films.
