Even as superstar Rajnikanth continues to recuperate at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, rumours have surfaced in Kollywood that the star has been paid a fee of Rs.24 crore to star in his upcoming film ‘Raana’. The film, which is directed by K.S Ravikumar, was launched on 29th April at a grand event in Chennai. Rajnikanth fell ill on the same evening and remains hospitalized at various hospitals ever since.
A payment of Rs.24 crore has been paid to Rajnikanth in the form of a single check, as a first installment, it is reported. Meanwhile, Rajnikanth’s fans across the State and the country have been fervently praying to their respective Gods for the superstar’s early recovery from his present illness. Special poojas have been performed at various Temples in the State including joint prayer meetings by the star’s fans belonging to various religions and sects.
Rajnikanth, who already holds the status of being the ‘highest paid actor in the country’, has once again reiterated his top-standing by getting paid Rs.24 crores for his triple-roles in ‘Raana’, reports say. Rajnikanth usually takes his pay-cheque only at the end of the shooting of his films but in the case of ‘Raana’, the payment has been made at the very beginning, it is further stated.
Payments apart, Rajnikanth’s fans are waiting with bated breath the day the star returns to Chennai from Singapore!
